hike Hunter Mountain

With 2 lean-tos, a fire tower and jaw-dropping views along the way, Hunter Mountain, the second highest peak in the Catskills, offers just about everything you could want in one Catskill hike! This roughly 7.5 mile intermediate hike is for those with some hiking experience. For the stronger and more experienced, there’s an opportunity to add approximately 3 miles to the hike and also summit Southwest Hunter, a trailless peak.

Walk around North and south Lakes

This roughly 4.5 mile easy to moderate snowshoe around North and South Lakes with a side trip to the sight of the former Catskill Mountain House is filled with views and history. On a clear day, you can enjoy the 4-state view from the sight of the former Catskill Mountain House. This trip is a great introduction for those who have not been visited the Catskills before and who have limited hiking experience!

Sunset on Bearpen Mountain

Climb one of the Catskill 3500 peaks in the evening to watch the sunset from its summit. Then turn around and head down and experience a completely different hike in the dark. This roughly 6 mile long trip is a great introduction for hikers who have never hiked at night. The trail is an easy to intermediate hike, though we’ll take it slow on the descent to get all used to hiking at night.
