Join Hike On Guides as we do The Devil in a Day. This 24.7 mile strenuous extreme hike takes you from Prediger Road in Platte Clove to Mink Hollow in Spruceton Valley. You will climb up and over Indian Head mountain, Twin mountain, Sugarloaf mountain, Plateau mountain, shoulder of Hunter mountain and Westkill. This should not be attempted by newer hikers but by someone who has miles under their belt and one who likes to push the limit. Those interested in signing up should understand this will be a group hike. The idea is for the group to help and support one another to reach the end. This is not an easy day hike and should only be attempted by those who can walk big miles in one day. If you are hoping to set a speed record this is not the hike for you or understand you may be waiting for the group for bag drop, rides and supplies. Many have expressed their desire to attempt this hike. No better way to do it than knowing you have the help and support of others but also the peace of mind that you can get back to your car if you decide to not continue on. See below for what the fee gets you.

Your $175 fee gets you the following.

  • Bag drop that will be brought to you at 214 (Stony Clove Notch) and at the end.

  • Bail out options at several locations along the route where you will be brought back to your car.

  • Snacks, Food, drinks and other surprises at the 1/2 point.

  • Ride back to your car from Spruceton Valley (Mink Hollow) at the end of the hike.

  • Me (All my cheerleading, encouragement, medical supplies as well as logistics, problem solving along the way.)

  • Water filtration along the way for those that need it.

Attendees should be dressed properly for variable late fall conditions, synthetic layered clothing, and wearing proper footwear. Attendees should also bring plenty of water, plenty of snacks and a great attitude. Those who attend should help support one another to allow for total group success.
